Belle & Dolly - A nice
piazza call. I came home in a thunder storm (my new mackin- tosh) & the
sky aglow with the big Genesee Fruit Co. fire. It poured most of the
night.
July 14 Tues.Mother invited me to lunch with her at
Sibley's today. She went to the Autumn
Chapter.
Reg. Flack came in and walked down with me
tonight. He got home from California Sunday & looks fine.
(But he made a big mistake to come home, I think) Read the magazines tonight.
July 15 Wed
Fine today. Lunched with the girls at the
Cafeteria & then called on Chattie. Helen
& Mrs. D. start for St. Helena tonight and
Geo. H. is going too! He thinks he's invited!!
It's a sort of a tragic joke all around. Worked on library catalogue tonight.
Marguerite Rowe sent me a lovely Hardanger
(?) stock from [illegible]
July 16 Thurs
Fine - lunched alone at Cafeteria & then went to
Bijou moving pictures. Tonight played Numerica
with Mother - very tired.
July 17 Fri.
A real rainy day. In torrents some of the time. Went out to
Wilkinson's to lunch. They do know how to live and
are mostinteresting. Kath
especially & Jo,
& Harry, went up-stairs around - hugged Chumminy
&c.
Kath gave me a pretty jabot. Wrote tonight.
July 18 Sat.
A series of thunder showers - or one long thunder shower from morning till
noon. It came down in torrents. We were very busy as
"Alicia Van Buskirk" went on her vacation
this a.m. and
Ethel Flack is still away. I lunched with
Edith at the Samovar - we took a long time
