I found my pretty blue gingham was shrunk so at the laundry that I couldn't wear it & gave it to Gertrude - swapping it for her blue & white lawn! How Klem laughed! We wore them to supper. Went to the sunset & passed a perfect evening on the bluff in the beautiful moonlight. It was dry & we walked up & down while the black & gray kittens followed us for an hour. It was really a heavenly night. The people down at the house had a seance! Aug 26. Thurs. A muggy morning - with a little rain. I rowed over for the mail with Klem while Gertrude (washed dishes!) wrote letters. The breeze on the bay was "quite some" but I got there, & Klem rowed back. Mrs. Shone & the Huerters & some friends of theirs (Rosseaus) from over Sodus - way went for a shore dinner some were quite private (the Slossons, Huerters, Batsfords & Mrs. C sat at our table) Had quite a pleasant chat with Mrs. Slosson - who was a business woman before she married & smart too, I imagine. I like them very well & the children are lovely. A breeze blew up after dinner & Klem, Trudy & I walked over to the woods - I didn't
