with Father but was just about done up all day. Went to bed at 9:30 Nov. 17 Sun. A lovely Sunday at last. Felt much better and walked from the Ridge Road nearly to Charlotte - all alone. The air was fresh and fine. Home just in time for dinner. Afterward went over to Davis's. Charlotte, Mr. & Mrs. D., Helen, "Cousin Elizabeth" &c were there (The Griswolds just leaving. Ham, & bride & the Franks had been there) Had a very nice visit with Helen & Chat. Told them Edith Scott was home & they phoned her at the Davenports & she came up after supper and told us all about her foreign trip (just back last Sunday) She & I walked home in the moonlight together. Talked about Edith a little first & then a lot about Ned. Nov. 18-19 Mon.-Tues. Monday fine. Tuesday very foggy in a.m. but fine later. Tonight Chat & Elizabeth Davis came up to supper & we made letters of autumn leaves for the Autumn Chapter sale Friday. Then played "Numerica" - quite a nice time, J.W.C. went quite suddenly to N.Y. Nov. 20 Wed. Fine - Got my new waist - Read "The Fruit of the tree".
