the Flack cottage where "Reg" made a fire and in time (with intervals of chestnutting, climbing trees other recreation) we got supper. First tomato soup - Then delicious sweet potatoes & Deerfoot sausages. Parker house rolls butter, & excellent coffee &c. We really had a very jolly time afterward I took a flashlight (with Flack's camera). The boys washed the dishes in about 1+ minutes & we all crawled up the dark hill - bumping into trees & things in a great hurry to catch the 7:20 train as the boys (3) wanted to bowl at 8. We got to the track at 7:10 only to find there was no train for an hour. I suggested we walk on (It wasn't so dark up there) So Flack & I started ahead on the track. The city glow to the south- west & the lesser Charlotte - glow to the north-west was most picturesque. Between Newport Station & the Forest House
(where we were on the road) Miss Mc Affrey
and Mr. Harper
caught up to us but were behind a good deal of the way. We walked to the city line (about 4 miles) to cars and electric lights. Before we got on a car Miss Flack & Mr. Crippen
caught up to us and Miss Bradshaw & Mr. Bridgeman
didn't - but walked all the way in!
