Nov. 1 Fri. The handwriting reading was a great success and tonight Alice Bradshaw came up & we read some of her friends together. I chose Nelson Gould for her. She chose Barrett Randall our both liked Ed Randall - but both spurned Reed Trieber. We read her own too. It took till after eleven, but was interesting. Nov 2. Sat. Slept some better last night (went to see Dr. Grant before) It was a rainy horrid night, but Mrs. Baker & Lura dined with Mother & me at Duffey's & we had a very good time. Mary & Nellie Mac there. Nov. 3 Sun The wooden wedding day

- They liked their bookcase. I breakfasted at Cro'nest with Henry and then saw him at his bath and played "peekaboo" with him etc. He's a dear. coughed a good deal. A dark rainy p.m. Nov. 4. Mon. House cleaning parlor. Lura & I went to MacArthur's tonight. Had a nice visit - played pedro &c. also drank coffee. Nov. 5. Tues. Election Day (Edgerton Mayor)
Rain early but cleared later. I managed to squeeze a half (1/3) holiday out of Gilmore and at 3:15 we 4 young ladies & 4 of the men took the Sea Breeze car to "Birds & Worms"
& left our dunnage
at the top of the hill. Chestnutted (I found 3) looked at the view. Took pictures (only timed ones) or. Then got cream & went down to
