Tonight was invited to Amelie's where we had a Victor phonograph recital. Some nice singing by Guernsey Curtis & a chat with Dr. Engert. Also some good things to eat. Came down quite late, with Theo, Meta & Frieda (& the rest.) Bessie Palmer & a Mr. Ward were there, too. Jun 25 Thurs. Fine. Went to Sibley's to lunch with Mother & bought her a nice silk coat. Very becoming & pretty (black taffeta - long) Helen Davis came in (from Baltimore &c.) Jun 27 Sat. To Dr Samovar to lunch with Edith. Then she went to join "Emmy Lou" & go to the Park and I went to Duffy's. We had a long talk there Ida Jonier & I, about the Edith - situation. Poor Ida, is beginning to be restless. Mame Dicken's joined us & walked to the corner with me. Then I went home, did cash acct. and "packed" & took the 4:30 train to Dansville (Mother had gone in the morning & Father staid home with Zozie!) The younger Miss Craigen went as far as Rush with me. Read "Somehow Good."
Doctor & Mother met me. Edith was just home from Addison & looked reasonably well. Had one of Mrs. Andrew's delicious suppers. Sat on the piazza, went to a moving picture show & then E. & I went down & over & had soda. Met May & Albert Hartman. A hot night. Jun 28 Sun.
