Ethel
is really getting fat I'm afraid but was very charming - nevertheless - we sat in the 4th row form the front - fine! May 20-21-22 Wed. Thu. Fri. Better weather & quite warm - which makes Mother feel better I'm glad to say - but makes me sleepy early. Nothing special nowadays. They are getting ready to paint our house! May 23. Sat. Mr. Rowe was at last acquitted last night - after quite a trial (see clipping in Jan.) Beautiful warm day. Saw Chattie Davis this noon & Edith afterwards. We talk of a walk to- morrow. Wrote & "figured" tonight. &c. &c. May 24 Sunday
(Chandler 15:6)
A beautiful day. A fire early this morning put all the Home phones out of commission - which was very embarrassing. I finally got Edith on the Ball and we went to Fairport on the trolly and called on her friends Mr. & Mrs. Dann ("Belle Goring) and had lemonade and looked at the garden &c & they walked with us on toward Pittsford - but not far as Mr. D.
had just had typhoid fever. We walked over to P.
(4 miles) and had dinner at the Pittsford Inn - An old-fashioned rejuvenated place. Ernest Millard & his wife were there. Then we took the 3 o'clock car in. & I went to Cro'nest & took my dearest babies' pictures. They are certainly darlings. Came home to loaf and rest and read. May 25 Monday Hot. Edward Schermerhorn (the genealogical cousin) & his mother spent the evening here - very pleasant.
