Jan. 12 Sun. A lovely bright day. Busy about the house all the morning & after dinner I went up to see my Henny-penny - He looked so sweet - all in white & playing with my beads & his toys &c. &c. Chandler cried some but is just all right. Went to sleep in Henry's bed later. I had a nice talk with Miss Jones

, who told me Hilda's story (which she told her today.) She seems more foolish - far - than depraved and is very fond of her baby. Her name is Hilda Roenick . About dark I went over to Chattie Davis's (by invitation) had supper with her & her father & Milly & Hamilton - and a nice talk. Then the B & G went to church. I went up stairs to see Mrs. Davis, who is sick - & Edith Scott came and showed me all her lovely foreign pictures & postals. We came down together in a 10:30(?) car. Jan. 13. Mon.

Chandler's 8½ lbs.
Nice letter from Claude today. J.W. is back from New York. Read tonight. It's lonesome nowadays - Reading "Alice - for Short".
Tues & Wed Jan. 14-15 Uneventful. Lunched with Mother at Sibley's Tuesday & she went to the Autumn chapter. Jan. 16. Thurs Wrote letters. Read "Alice"
aloud - &c. Fred sick Thurs. Tonight we 8 (and Gilmore, one game) went over to the Elm Club & bowled. I made a pretty bad score tonight (was tired) but enjoyed it. I had cleaned out the stock closet Wednesday, at the office and was awfully tired - am yet - every night. 28 St. Joseph Place
