Falls, which has grown immensely in ten years & is very
pretty indeed in its set- ting of mountains & river. We passed Edith
Goodman West's new house & went thro' the charming park (just
begun when I was here before. Where the man who gave it has his bare
feet tracks in the cement threshold of the golf house! Then we drove out north
eastwardly toward the "back" of French Mountains to a charming
little lake called "Sunnyside" - I snapped it - but didn't get
the view with the mountains behind. Mrs. M.
proved very good company, it was a lovely morning and the Foliage was
gorgeous We came home "the "Ridge Road" - stopping at a corner
hillside to take the picture of a sleepy lazy valley & distant mountains -
but the picture doesn't begin to suggest it. We got back to dinner
between 12 & 12:30 and Mrs. Murray staid. It was
delicious of course. After
