it was late. I read a book of Gertrude Atherton's
all day. Had a good lunch &c. but got awfully
hot! Reached Albany
about 5:30 (instead of 4:25) & Found Eva
there to met me - in a great flutter lest she should have missed me. Checked
my bag & went up town to see the decorations. & then just caught the
6:06 train (packed!) to Troy. Had supper in the station &
walked around there, looking at decorations &c. windmills, ships window
exhibits & triumphal arches. Then went to a grandstand (by ticket) &
heard a (very nice concert - 1000 voices they said. Got upon the hill
Eo's new house, but sat on the piazza half
an hour because she'd forgotten her key. Frank,Ruth &
Christine
came later - & "Ricky" the dog, was
let out & we visited a little before bed. The house is very nice, but it's
a pity it isn't a little bit nicer, it might be so easily & the location is fineOct. 9 Sat.
We all hustled out early this a.m. but
Frank & I took a little snack before
breakfast. I was sorry I didn't photograph house & garden (especially) because
there was sun there tho' the valley was full of fog. We got down town (all
bundled up - only to be peeled off later) at 8:30. Miss [illegible] - a school teacher friend of Eo's
& Mrs. [illegible] - a
Mt Holyoke girl - or woman - were in the
