7/10/09 So. Park.
I can't begin to describe them - but the 1st prize - Rochester Athletic Club - designed by Jim Arnold - will suffice - The motor boat in front was covered & in the form of a huge yellow fish - with glowing eyes - very artistic. It drew a huge raft or float - all trimmed with colored lights &c & inside about 8 young men in white tights posing as athletes - runners & discus throwers - wrestlers &c. It was wonderfully beautiful. To crown it all all were beautiful fireworks. The road solid with lighted Auto's music everywhere and singing and at least 10000 people! We left in time to get a car & a seat. July 11 Sun. Rained in the night & showery today. Went up to Cro'nest about four. Channie walking around finely & straight in little blue garment. Henry sweet. Had tea with Josie & rode home in the rain. Jo tells me that dear Letitia had decided to stay with our children. I can't be thankful enough. She is such a jewel! I fixed the pictures in the babies' books. July 12 Mon. Very hot & muggy Lunched with Mary D. at Sibley's. Edith Andrews came (from Mexico & New Hampshire) & staid over night. July 13 Tues. Lovely cool breezy day. Edith's mother came down & they shopped. Mother & I happened to meet them at Sibley's at noon & had a nice little visit - also had one with Charella. Mr. Hanna
confided in me about "Ann" ( ) and I went to be Hippodrome
