Mechanics Inst. to supper & then to see the Sunday School parade (1000s of children & teachers) with the MacArthur's & later to the Lyceum to see "The Marriage of Kitty" with them and Mary-Belle. It was very good. June 9-10 Wed & Thurs. Cloudy Wed. Rain Thurs. House cleaning & a lot of it. Went to Seel's to lunch & to the Hippodrome both noons & played "Flinch" tonight June 11 Fri. Fine. Lunched at Sibley's with Mary
. Got a postal from Bess who complains of "skeeters" Planned an impromptu trip to Canada with Marguerite (& the 'phone) tonight. Chattie & Helen are in the West, but didn't leave till last Friday (Instead of Monday) June 12 Sat. Fine day. Marguerite & I started for Coburg on the 8:45 train from the B.R. & P.M. Erbe was there with a large party (about 25) who had come to his daughter Ruth's wedding (Thursday) We got to the river just below Riverside and climbed up onto the big "Ontario I" ferry boat (which carries 28 big steel loaded coal cars at once 100000 lbs each!) There were only about 40 or 50 passengers - only a hand full for such a boat. We got a nice breezy, sheltered corner & there was a pretty ride down the river (one of the Erbe party lost his field glasses over the side!) & it was cold enough when we got! way out to wear our long coats! The Erbe party ate all day. They brought things & also had a
