5/21 "Divorcous".
They are building the little tool-house, (or playhouse) and fence. It will look nice. Read "Araminta"
(a foolish book Lura lent me) May 17 Mon. Lunched with Mr. & Mrs. Bun at Seel's &c saw about hat at Karnes. Father some better. May 18 Tues. Father sat up today. Lovely day, but cold. Bess & Mary came up to supper and we did puzzles later. The Behn R. Co. family house at No.18 (Claude's
) is to go on. May 19, Wed. Down early, Anderson
here, after a trip South. To Hippodrome tonight & a late supper. May 20-21 Thurs. & Fri. Busy - played flinch &c. Tu Fri. lunched with Bess & Mary & this eve. we went to see the new Lyceum Stock Co (very good) in "Divorcons"
- Bought my watch at Oemisch's!
Bess helped me. Got a gold pin with J.R.S. money. May 22 Sat. "Watch day." got it!! It's a dear. Cold & gloomy today - Hippodrome, Genesee, late home &c. &c. May 23 Sun. A beauteous May-day. Father's first out. We all went up to Cro'nest to dinner, my "birthday" dinner, Letitia said. She's going on a two week's vacation to the Taylor's Keene Valley cottage in June. I'm so glad. The dear "little house" as Hemeny calls it, is done & very nice. Mrs. Ramsdell
gave a nice Kintergarten table to the children or "lent" it. Mrs. Crothers
came over "birding" (on my birthday a lovely scarlet tanager sat on a bush all during dinner). I took Hemeny over to the park, but it was too full of people. Later he & I took a walk in the woods & he was so dear. Stopped in Mt. Hope
