May 23 Sun.
A beauteous May-day. Father's first out. We all went up
to Cro'nest to dinner, my "birthday"
dinner, Letitia said. She's going on a two
week's vacation to the Taylor'sKeene Valley cottage in June. I'm so glad. The dear "little
house" as Hemeny calls it, is done & very
nice. Mrs. Ramsdell
gave a nice Kintergarten table to the
children or "lent" it. Mrs. Crothers
came over "birding"
(on my birthday a lovely scarlet tanager sat on a bush all during dinner). I took
Hemeny over to the park, but it was too full of people. Later he & I took a walk in
the woods & he was so dear. Stopped in Mt.
