Mother took Miss G., Letitia & the children for a long drive this p.m. I had a session with Dr. Scranton half the afternoon (seven dollars!) See 24. Saw Nellie Mac. too. Wrote in evening. Oct 23. Fri. Dined at Cafetaria with girls & went to Hippodrome (!) Helped J.G. today. (He needed it) Oct. 24. Sat. Worked hard. Rained this p.m. The boys disappeared at ball game. Flack came up from Buffalo & wanted us to go over & bowl, but when we got there there were no alleys. Went to Sibley's & dined Mother &Miss G. to music. It was nice, but sloppy walking later. Oct 25. Sun. Lovely day. Everybody but me went to church. Letitia brought the babies down this p.m. I went up to meet her. Henry & his little red basket & his chestnut. They were dears. Later went over to Davis's & had a lovely supper (Spanish Omelette) and Chattie read Emery Pottle's "Unex- pected Guest" out of the Harper's Italian story. Oct. 26, Mon. Rain a.m. but fine in p.m. Miss G. & Mother went to Seneca Park. More reading aloud of Gardenhire's
"Purple & Home spun" tonight. Oct. 27 Tues Fine a.m. Cloudy p.m. & thunder about two, session with Dr. Scranton Herb. Caswell called tonight. Oct. 28. Wed A rainy, dark day. Herma took me to see Frank Daniels in "Hook of Holland". Theo went too. It was quite entertaining to me, tho' not really very good.
