Lura & Helen were there just returned from St. Helena and of course over come by the news of Lillian. Chattie looked very nice indeed in a new braided white linen & big beach hat. Aug. 29. Sat. Went up to Cro'nest & took some pictures (which were very unsuccessful) and had a very delightful afternoon tea with C.F.B. Kath, Jo., Louisa & her husband (whom I'd never met before) Mrs. Danforth, Mrs Wilkinson and Mr. Newton. Mrs. D.

reading her palm and interested me immensely - as giving much insight into her character. She and I have a common practical - self-critical nature - if I dare compare myself and with such a wonderful woman and such a belle and such a beauty. Aug. 30. Sept 1 Sunday Warm. This pm. I went down to 143 Conkey Avenue and saw Bess & Mary just returned. They looked well & we had a nice visit. Myra Crawley was there (& took our pictures on Bob's last film) They liked my pictures too.
