mountains - Marcy, McIntyre & Haystack - didn't show in the shore group as we wanted them to Julie came back home with me (to the hammock - parlor) & made a long & jolly call. Later I went and got Miss Griswold and we tried Mr. Jane's - trail - up over to the saddle - to the road. It was steady incline & the blazes far apart (we were the first ones over it) but finally we reached the very top & the other side simply fell away to the road - it was so steep - It looked enticing but was too steep late to try it. So we climbed up a big rock to our right (the second head of Watch Hill) & scrambled till we found more lovely views "incland" tho' I think I didn't take the best one, after all. Then we "raced" back down hill (can one race a blazed trail?) to dinner. I actually took a bath before it - late as it was - 'cause Mary had a pail of hot water ready. After our good Sunday dinner (but no ice cream!) we took the boat & rowed over to the next point & went up the other trail (Will Osgood showed us) to Watch Point. Eyof & Barlow passed us (& got lost & didn't find it) & promised to take our boat back so we could come back the short way. This is much longer but individual & fascinating like them all. It forms part, I think of Mr. Abbott's trail to the road - anyway that crosses it. At the top it is very confusing & goes 'way round the knob before reaching the overlook,
