Feb. 18 Sunday Read a lot of course, today about Alice Roosevelt's wedding yesterday. Sorted my maps &c. Floss came in the p.m. and Mother told her about Florence Charlton's engagement to "Edward Jolly of Regina". She almost had hysterics. I went over to the 3rd church (late) and heard most of Mr. Guthrie's sermon Then walked up to Davises. George
was just going. I staid to supper (Helen was at "Jane's
") and went to church with Chat and Mrs. D. Didn't want to much and it lasted late - so I was late home - Read "The Martian" upstairs. Feb. 19 Monday Cold and windy - Busy, of course. Had supper with Mother at Mechanics Institute and she heard the cooking lesson while I went to Baker Theatre with G.C.B. and heard "Her Husbands' Defense". Feb. 20 & 21 Tues, Wed Uneventful days - Father is reading Fisk's "American Revolution" aloud to Mother & I while we sew &c. Also play flinch. Feb 22 Thurs. The birthday of Geo. Washington. We had a half holiday, but I worked till abouts 5 - I'm so very busy Then inspected the engine & dynamo rooms. Lunched with Edith, "Bob" Hutchinson & Miss Dickens. Tonight went with Laura, Lura & Marie to see Viola Allen in "The Toast of the Town" - The play was Clyde Fitchy & pretty
