have my hair
brushed. Then went up & called on Henry, Miss Jones and walked down home
& when the "help" got thro' Mother & I went down to Mrs. Chapin's & saw her, & "Ed"
& Frances & two guests & went all
thro' the pretty made-over house on Troup &
Washington St. Then we went up to the Orphan Asylum Reception - but were
late. Saw the Cook cottage and new
administration bldg. but didn't go in the School house. Had
coffee. Saw Mrs. Carson, Mrs.
Hollister and
Mrs. Mulligan &c. I left Mother at the car & stopped at Davis's a few minutes.
Helen sent me some delicious
oranges from Florida. Spent evening at home.
Feb. 13. Sat.
Bright & still cold.
Nan Moore came about five.
Papa and I met her & Pop
took her satchel home, while we walked over to Sibley's and had some coffee & then walked home - to a
good supper & a pleasant evening together.
Feb. 24 Sun.
Rather blustery. Mother, Nan & I went to church, heard a good sermon.
Walked down town (for the Century) Rode to Cro'nest
& had a delightful call on
Miss Jones &
Henry & rode home - to spend the rest
of the day & evening eating, talking by the fine eating again
& do. do. Some music box too. Had a nice visit, anyway. Blusterous
outside.
