Apr. 7 Sun Cloudy this a.m. & rained just as Trudy & I started to the station for the 11:38 a.m. train. The Mayor was leaving on the same train. Also a most astonishing "bunch" of players from The Corinthian - with numerous small dogs &c.&c. and all chewing gum. The train was on time and it was raining so hard I took my umbrella & rubbers to church for Mother instead of going to Cro'nest as usual, phoned up, however and Char said "Tell Gran'ma Henry has a tooth!" He was 7 months old yesterday, so it's a birthday present. Rested all day & read. Mrs. Rowe came over for a visit. She says Freas Snyder is engaged to a girl in Phila. Apr. 8. Mon. Dark and disagreeable. Went to Dr. Scranton's at noon and he sawed and pounded till 3:15. Didn't eat lunch - very busy. Tonight Papa announced a raise (his salary of $3.00 per week and Mother announced that the boy who shot Zenda was captured (mostly thro' her efforts) had been brought to the house - been talked to, wept, apologized and went off with a policeman to answer the charge of carrying concealed weapons!
