Sept. 21 Friday Left Julie

in charge this am. Dr. Neefus

came & changed the medicine again. He said she was better. The dysentery had been complicated with something else more serious (in children fatal). I never want to see her sicker than she was Tuesday night. Came home at noon & took care of her. Julie
 had gone. Warm tonight - All to bed early tired. Sept. 22 Sat. Showery. Mother much better this am & sitting up. Meta got her lunch & Papa came up. I ate dinner with him at Sibley's. Later I came up & found her rather tired out & not feeling so well. At night gave her the supper, bath, douche. Fed Papa, myself, the cats, combed them did cash accounts, wrote, and darned socks! Sept. 23 Sun. Cloudy. Got breakfast &c. Claude came. Waited on dear Mother in my room - Papa and I went over to Meta's to dinner - a very nice one. Papa enjoyed his Rhine wine with Mr. Behn. Sat up stairs and read. Papa went up to see little Henry. Sept. 24. Mon. Got breakfast, lunched alone at Sibleys & then rode home to see Mother. She had numerous callers this p.m. Very cold. Read in evening Sept. 25 Tues. Bright & fair. Early breakfast. Meta came over to promise Mother soup for dinner & Mrs. Caring to bring bread! this a.m. while I washed dishes. Mother came down to supper, and she played flinch & beat me 3 games!
