Pittsford. Got acquainted with several nice dogs on the way. Just before we reached the village we saw heard the 3:52 car, so "slowed up" and by the time we got to the station had a good 40 minute rest before the 4:52 which was crowded but we got seats - mine opposited "Mrs Dr. Day" and an old admirer (ap- parently) from Canandaigua & beside a young newsboy. The conversation proved rather amusing by the time we reached Exchange St. and by that time it sprinkled and soon after I got home it rained hard! Went over to Behn's & had quite a visit with Herma - who is to sail for England Thursday morning! (got the invitation last night to visit their English friends the Gingeles for a year! Of course there was much talk. Mr. Behn hardly knew how to decide without Meta (who is in N.Y. with the Gs.) but Amelie settled it. Oct. 22 Mon Pouring rain all day. Shopped at noon - bought a new green brown skirt to go with my waist &c. Lunched at S's & went to the Bijou. Read tonight. Oct. 23 Tues. Fine. Had a quite a chat with Amelie this noon & gave Herma my
