May 24 Thurs.
Regular
N.Y. weather. Lunched with Papa at
Sibley's. Tonight left at 5:30 and
rode out to Mary's and sat on their piazza a
little while with Ida and Mary.
M.
wanted me to go down to Edith's tonight, so
I did - met her there, but E.
wasn't home so we decided to go to
Charlotte's
and did. I on Diana
and Mary by car.
George
was there but left soon. We sat on the
piazza and had a fine visit. The kind I like - about "things"
Mary
walked down to the bridge with me. I sat up and finished my book (after a bath)
May 25 Friday
Warm & still. JWC. didn't do a stroke of work today, so
I got along finely with my blanks (which are much behind.) Went with
Papa to Cook's
tonight to see the Stock Co. in Clyde Fitche's
play "The Girl with the Green Eyes" - a very clever thing.
May 26 Sat.Elbridge Adams is in town on Automatic business - (was
at the office Thursday &c.) Rather busy. It cooled of rather
suddenly and began to rain this afternoon and
poured on the evening (alas for our walk tomorrow.)
May 27. Sun.
No great loss without some
small gain. I had a nice long sleep - to the tune of raindrops, this
morning and took it easy after breakfast. Claude
telephoned me to come dinner, so I did and
while we sat talking in front
