odds and ends of things -
both before and after "breakfast" (which was good) About 4 rode Diana over for a nice call on Kitty Crichton who told me all about her lovely trip to
Seattle and home by the Canadian Pacific. Then visited
Frank and Lilian
on their pleasant back piazza and later
Lilian showed me her lovely baby outfit - The
sweetest things I ever saw! I went right up and got Chattie to show me how to crochet an afghan for Char - Like the one she did for Lilian. Mrs. D.
is sick. Mrs D. & Chattie & the Swedish girl were on the piazza.
Then I rode over to Cro'nest (via
Goodman St.) but no one was home. Had a long chat with
Mr. Behn (who is also alone today) and
supper at 8:30 and a chat with Mr. Swinburne &c.
Aug 13 Mon.Lura's birthday. Fine day. Mother & Father
got home this noon - Sewed & talked tonight.
Aug 14 Tues.
Another fine day. Ted
Shipherd came this noon on a motor-cycle. He was from
Buffalo and going to N.Y. He didn't
look much like a dominie! Miss Emich (from the N.Y.
office) called this p.m. I worked till 7:45 (dark) & then "rested"
playing flinch, when I got home. Letter from Edith Hillman, telling her big news - Missed
Harriette
when she
passed thro' here on Monday (she telegraphed Mother
the last minute - coming from
California)
