in a parrot cage (they were [illegible]
too) Afterward we took a car down to the Genesee (St.) & went into a Dept. Store & finally tacked across to the new Hotel Lafayette
- where after a comfortable brushing up we had a scumptuous dinner in the pretty dining room. It rested & refreshed us. Then we looked up Edna's address (Mrs. Geo E. Wilkinson, 890 prospect St. (Ave?)
 and inter- viewed the maid & took the Niagara Falls car out there. Had a nice call with her (& little Marion
 & Lois
) She is fat - but the same bright eyes & animated face. She lives in a rather unimposing style. Told us about Charlie - who is very "poorly" (in Salt Lake City, with his new wife) and Reba who is beautiful - and dressmaking there & Nate. From there we took the Grant St. Car down down to Flossie Looney's - 384 Hudson St.
 and had a nice visit with the whole family - including poor Bess
 - whose new hair is 3 inches long on top already! She was liter- ally scalped the 8th of Sept. in a motor boat & has had a most miraculous recovery. Floss has lost 20 lbs. but looks well. Is teaching in night school & assisting the Domestic Science woman in the Public Schools. We staid to Supper & Mr. L.
& Floss put us on the Hoyt St. car which takes us in right to the station. We left at 8. I read "The Story of the
