Sat. Jan. 27 1906 Lovely bright dry day. J.W. off in his new Auto. this p.m. Just busy enough. Things going nicely at office now-a-days. Shopped a little tonight and wrote all the evening. This is the day Papa's poem is read at the Dinner of the Society of the Genesee in N.Y. Jan. 28 Sun Went up to Cro'nest this morning & found Char on the couch sick. Claude drawing - with his new suit on. He got 3rd prize $100 - in the office building com- petition. After dinner read upstairs and later Belle Bragdon Hutchins called with Miss Wright of the West High School. She came to see her step- son young Hutchins, who's been going to school there & had appendicitis! Almost rain tonight. Jan 29 Mon. "Brite & fare". JW's new car is no good (till thoroughly over hauled) He was quite disgusted. Went to the bank and to Mary's this noon. Home tonight - no company (Flacks [illegible] of it) Feb. 30 Tues Jan 31 Wed. Nothing to put down. Mildly busy but not very. We had a family dinner at Sibley's this noon & then Mother & I went shopping - linoleum for bathroom &c. Feb. 1. Thurs. Colder & blizzardy Papa & I went to the Baker & saw "Her American Prince" by a member of the Post Express force tonight. It was funny & "grand". A too handsome leading man & a too homely leading lady!
