Dec. 2. Sat.
Busy till late, so I didn't do
much shopping - as I intended - but yester- day I bought a new green
& white scotch flannel waist. Saw the dressmaker about my green
drees &c. &c. Saw
Mary a few minutes tonight with
Nellie
& Alice. Lura gave me some "boquets" from Dr.
Link. Tonight I ripped my black silk while Papa read.
Dec. 3. Sun.
It rained last night and this
morning and all day so far (noon) has softly snowed, so that
everything is covered and beautiful. Have been writing, reading newspapers
& "loving cats"! After dinner went down to Mae Stull's & had a nice little visit with her &
Jno & Mrs
Wray. She isn't very well. Then went to Edith's & had supper with her &
Henry
. Went over to Ida's and saw the babies, Marion
& Elsie
- (cute kiddie) Saw
Edith's pretty Xmas
things. Found I'd missed a visit from Hamilton. Read later.
Dec 4. Monday
Staid down to lunch & shop
- but didn't accomplish much. Took papers (JRS.) to safe deposit.
Dec. 5 Tues.
Down to lunch again. Did a
trifle more.
J.W. went to
Washington tonight (P.O. business)
Dec 6 Wed.
The stores are full now - I not
busy, Getting caught up fine. flinch &c. tonight.
Dec 7 Thur.
Sunny (at last) and just like
Spring. Staid out till 4 o'clock & went with Mother
to buy a winter coat (at Sibley's) Saw the
twins after ditto. And Mrs.
Dinehart - FitzSimons. She doesn't look well.
