May 19 Sat. Cooler today and fine. Still busy. Walked out East Avenue tonight. Met ambulance & automobile with wounded men in and heard about a bad accident at the ball game - a section of "bleachers" came down and about 50 were injured. Walked 'way to Brighton and rode in (late) Late supper. Con Theo came over to show us some embroidered shoes they had been making for Meta. He may go to Europe next month. Did my accounts, wrote &c. Edith Hillman had an operation for appendicitis Apr. 28 & her mother for some stomach trouble May 11 - ! I must write to Con! May 20 Sunday A gorgeous spring day, but cool. Rode around on Diana but rather "futilly". Stopped at MacArthur's and had a visit with Nellie. After dinner Read and "played music' and before [illegible]. May 21 Mon. Fine but hot. Went up to Cro'nest via So. Ave. before supper. Claude just home from N.Y.and Cape Vincent and was most interesting telling about "The girl from the Golden West" he saw in N.Y. with Fred Wilkinson &c. Char also told funny stories about Carlie. Read &c. later. May 22 Tues. Warm, very busy. Went to the National and heard "Bachelor's Romance" tonight. Sat next to Mary(also Nellie & Idy) It was very good. Rode "Diana May 23 Wed Warm. Very busy indeed. Took a short lunch time and worked till 6:15. Read "The Heart of Lady Anne" tonight
