Jun. 27 Thurs Claude went to Dansville for a few days rest (while they are figuring the Church. Lunched at the Cafeteria with Edith and Mame Dickens and afterward had a visit with Mary. Went to Mrs. Weston's to be fitted. Jun. 28 Fri. Lunch at Sibley's with G.C.B. Visited the Behns on the piazza a little while and then the Farrens (and later the Russell's) called on us. Herma is engaged to the Southern (Norfolk Va) boy - Lyons Hunter Williams. Jun. 29. Sat. After lunch I "packed" &c. It got very cloudy. and rained when I started (a little after 3) for the Vacation House. Papa put me in a car and I just caught the Manitou car. The House this year is next to the end (Ham's) on Guilford Bluff and is fine. Mame Dickens was there and introduced me to Mrs. Jones, the hostess & her daughter Mrs. Hartnian (whom I used to know in cooking school) and some others. Mrs Sperry (in the Co' clerks office) Grace Ely &c. I'll put the rest I met during the week down here, so I won't forget(?) Grace E. Ely, 7 Seyle Terrace, Mary S. Ervart, 139 Bronson Ave. Alta S. Rogers, 152 Glenwood Ave. 3 great friends - at least 2 in Utz & Dunn's - go to the Lake Ave Baptist church - very nice girls. Flora Echarn, 27 Fien St. Josephine Lehle, 59 Scrantom St. Chums - work at Bausch's. Taking a week's vacation. Eloise Maier, 50 Buchan Park (pretty) Helen O'Laughlin 50 Edinburg St. (Irish) Millie Gommenginger, 30 Ardmore St. (camera) 3 other good friends on vacation. Mrs. A Louise Sperry 161 Troup St. Oldish Co. Clerks office. Emilie F. Baetzel - (Mt Hope Ave.) coalman's daughter. Myra F. Crawley 55 Pearl Place. (President-once) Pearl Crawley " " " (not clover club - funny) Mary B. Dickens 143 Conkey Ave. Bess J. Hutchinson " ("spinster" - at 46" - (no!) Mary B.
