up to Cro'nest to take little Hal's new comfortable. His Uncle Harry came yesterday and saw him for the first time, and held him. The Baby was out on the piazza in his basket - but quite wide awake and rosy & dear. I think he is a beauty. Had a nice visit with Char. - in her room - & with Claude down stairs. Then went over to Davises & found Frank & Lillian and little Frances there. She looks fine (when she isn't crying) but no better than Hal. Tho' she's gained a pound more (He was 10 & she 11) She howled very soon & poor little Lillian had to tug her to the car for she continued to howl while Frank held her. Had a long visit with Mr. & Mrs. D. (who teazed me to stay till Helen & Chat came from the lake) which they did about 6:30 & we had "tea" and a nice visit. Helen & Jane A. are "thicker than thieves" again ap- parently. Came home to read and write & talk to my dear cat! Oct. 29 Mon "Blue Monday" because I had to go to the dentist's.
