Chattie took me up in her room to show me some crochet things & we had quite a talk. She walked to the bridge with me - I stopped at Lura's but didn't stay very long Sept. 10 Mon. Herbert Caring started for Blue Mt. Lake this morning on my recommendation. He came in last night to see my pictures &c. Quite warm today. I lunched at Sibleys with Misses Hutchinson, Dickens & Crawley. Miss Garfield came (on her way back to Walton & N.Y.) and tonight I crochetted and talked. Sept. 11 Tues. Warmer. Busy. Mother & Miss G. went to Mrs. Baker's to the "chapter". Home tonight, en famile Sept. 12 Wed. Very warm today. Talked all the evening with Miss Garfield, she told us a lot about Aunt Lulie's "spasms" Sept. 13 Thurs. Cooler Miss G. left at 8:50. Mother went to the car with her and I washed the breakfast dishes. Tonight James Arnold came up and looked at my Nantucket pictures. He's going there next week after meeting Walter
 in N.Y. about Monday. Louise & her husband leave Sunday night for San Francisco. He is assigned to the new "Milwaukee" Sept. 14 Fri. Sibley's to lunch with G.C.B Bijou to "Hazel Kirke". Tonight read Colliers &c. It was cold enough to have the gas log lighted! Sept. 15 Sat. Fine & cool & busy. Walked back this p.m. Went up to on little Hal at 5. He was awake. His hair is light and ruddy. I kissed his dear little round cheek. Haven't seen Char yet but heard her cheerful voice. Stopped on my
