to the store for postals &c. and finally to the station - when it was dark. The 54th Regt. band - or part of them - came & went with us. A dressed-up young man with white tie derby &c. who proved to be our wagon-friend - came to see us off. Mr. Weller drove over too (to bring somebody) & we broke it to him that he made us late. Had a jolly time coming home. Ed Koeppe was on the train & came & visited me awhile (& Herma) and Mr. B
bade us a (cordial & farewell at Scottsville. I think he enjoyed the escapade as much as we did. We got home about 8:30. Went to bed early and Oct.14 Sun. slept late, tho' it was a lovely morning. When I did get started, I took Diana to Cro'nest first. Everybody was outdoors & we had a nice visit. Papa & Mother came up too. Saw Henry a little - a wasp chased Carl (with his new Paris collar on!) and I took some pictures- finally went on - around Highland Ave. stopped at the Reservoir & at Davises. Chattie & Helen were on the back piazza - we talked about the Big Tree Inn - Chat is going "Somewhere" Thursday for a vacation. Did intend to go to the Catskills but Dr. Potter says that's too long a rail road ride (I think so too)
