Jan. 5 Fri.
Lunched with Papa at Sibley's and then went
over to the "Y" (after some shopping) and read "Life". Helen was out. Read & flinch tonight.
Jan. 6 Sat.JWC's 9th wedding anniversary (1897-1906) so
Mrs. C informed me. A lovely blizzard this
afternoon. Staid late. Looked into
Louise Stowell's studio coming down, and went
over to Scrantom's and bought
Dave Gray's "Gallops #2". I asked for it at
Sibley's book department the other day and
the girl said "Down stairs at the music department" - ! Zozie was lovely - accounts &c tonight. Frieda has finished Lasall & gone to the
R.B.W.!
Jan 7. Sun.
Snow flurries but rather nice weather -
even when it did look like a blizzard. It was the 90th Anniversary services of
our church and I went twice today, with the family, Dr.
Miller
preached a very good historical sermon and in the afternoon
Dr. Millard and Dr. (M.D.)
Ely
told reminiscences &c. Missed a call from Mary.
Jan 8-9 Mon. Tues.
Real winter weather
at last. Snow storm Monday and lovely frosty moonlight Tuesday night.
Miss Flack and I worked rather late and then
walked out to the Homeopathic Hospital to see
Gracie Bingham's mother, Mrs.
Lewis, who is there and threatened with paralysis (I think)
She was rather forlorn and I am sorry for "Gracie". Marycalled
at office.
Jan. 10 Wed.
Am reading "The Spoils of
Poynton" by Henry James, which Swinburne lent me - most Jamesy!
Jan. 11 Thurs.
Tackled J.W.C. today on a subject I've long wished to talk to him about - wish
I'd have talked longer!
1906.
