Feb. 3. Sun. Wind died down some. Went up to see my little Henry. He weighs 13 1/2 now. (6 oz since Friday). He is a dear. Read all day, by the fire. Feb. 4 Mon. Coldish. JG. is sick & JW. not well (but kept me busy. Read all the magazines tonight. Feb. 5 Tues. Stormy. Papa read aloud tonight & Mother & I sewed. Read "The Light that failed" again. It is a great book - the most tragic I ever read. (Have read it 2 times!). Finished it late tonight. (Wed.) Feb. 6 Wed Stormy day. Lunched with Father & Mother at Sibley's & went shopping with Mother - we traded the green stamps for a rocking chair!!! Went up in the gallery tonight to see "Daughters of men". It was great - but not so great as "The Lion & the Mouse" (by the same author.) About labor & capital & how hard it is for them to get together. Feb. 7. Thurs "Brite & Fare". Home to lunch. Busy with many competition perplexities at the office - we are certainly "up against it"! Played flinch tonight ( Mother has won the "championship" (5th series) by one card - now I'm beating her. Feb 8. Fri. Very busy. Lunched with GCB at Sibley's then went to Nan's for a brushing. Wrote letters tonight - to Alice Wolfe & Helen Davis - (who wrote me a funny one from Florida" Feb. 9. Sat A nice winter's day. Went to Mrs. Weston's tonight and then to lunch with Chattie at Sibley's - (a long one - with music.) She told me a lot about Carrie George "wayward Carrie"! Then we went
