May 26 Sunday Pouring rain this morning, so we didn't go to Pultneyville as planned. Had a nice morning cleaning my closets(!) &c. phoned to Char after dinner & she said lil Henry had a lovely new high chair! Sat on the piazza with Marguerite & had quite a gossip with her and her mother. Then read later. Cold. May 27. Monday. Windy & cold. Read some and settled parlor after home cleaning tonight. May 28 Tues. Bright & warmer. Lunched down at Sibley's with G.C.B. & then went to the Bijou (not much good) Tonight Papa & I went to Cook's to see Marshall Wilder aslo saw a very clever dog and monkey show (no man at all on the stage!) and Gennaro's Band - and Gennaro also himself - The Italian leader - was worth the price of admission - such a poseur & so funny! May 29 Wed. Bright & warmer (but by no means hot!) Smith here to say farewell. Now he probably won't even marry the St Louis girl till Fall - and no telling what will happen by fall! Met Matie Hawley tonight - here for a week - Then Chat - & we went to Duffy'stogether. She says Helen has accepted the YWCA State Secretary - ship ($1200 & expenses) and that Jack MacIntosh is engaged - ! - to a Meaford girl. Read tonight. To bed early.
