July 21 Sun. Bright nice day. Father & Mother & I went up to Cro'nest but they didn't wait for the folks to come home. I did and snapped Heny Penny, Kath, Carl & "Dad" a few times. H. is a dear. Stayed home all the rest of the day - used up. July 22-27 Mon-Sat A warm week. Lunched at the Cafeteria twice with Mother once at Sibley's & with Father (Friday) there. Thursday p.m was sick abed (awfully) Edith thinks from description it was sunstroke (- or "heat prostration") - I wouldn't be sur- prised. Today Edith lunched with me & came up home. We played flinch & it was a lovely day - but windy. I took Diana & went over to the Cutler Bldg. for blue pt. paper & made a short call on the Flack's (Hansie especially) fussed "getting ready". "The Carings had an Automobile party there. Herma told me all about her engagement the other day. July 28 Sun Henry & Char & Claude came down this p.m. He was a dear. Sat up & sucked his finger on his mother's lap and so on. July 31. Wed. to Aug 2. Fri. Started with Trudy Wednesday night (she came Monday) Father & Mother saw me off and we had two fine staterooms - outside - opening into each other - & were asleep before the boat got out of the river.
