Feb. 23 '06 Fri. Gorgeous and warm - just like the first of April. J.W. went motoring this p.m. I lunched with GCB at Sibley's. Tried to go to bed early tonight but washed my hair & took a bath & read when late. Feb 24 Sat. Still another lovely day. Went to the station at 5 and met Nan Moore - just from Detroit (6:30 a.m.!) We came right home so she rested a little and we talked before supper. She is as nice as ever. I spent the evening visiting with Mother &c. also looked at the maps up Waterford way. Feb 25 Sun. Papa slept in the attic tonight, I in his bed in Mother's room & Nan in mine. Was surprised to find it raining when I got up this morning, but fortunately it stopped before we were ready to go out. We walked down thro' the Third Ward - Livingston Place &c. and to St.Paul St. where we took a car to Driving Park Ave. saw the Falls - went into Highland Maplewood Park & up to the top of Burke's hill then rode up Lake Ave. & 'way out Genesee St. to the Rapids - came thro' Brooks Ave. & took the Plymouth car in. Claude came to dinner (Char. didn't feel able) Had a very good dinner & most entertaining conversation (Claude & Nan both being there) Mother had a woman to help, so at three we (she, Nan & I) got into a surrey, with a driver from Thompson's and took a very nice ride - all over the
