Went to the hospital donation & bought a chafing dish (bandage apron for Mae) Lunched at Sibley's. Tonight went to the dressmaker but she was out. Went to Lura's to supper Frank Trappe (who is at Humbruck's now) was jolly but tired. Went with Laura to see Arnold Daly in "You never can tell". It was fine & the scene in the dentist's office very real. Lovely moonlight night. The East wing of the Asylum nearly gone. Dec 8 Fri. Slept like a top, another warm day. Was fitted at noon (after dining with G.C.B. at Sibley's) Helen came in to Lura's this p.m. Hamilton got the deed of "Pine Tree Island" yesterday and in Toronto & perhaps "Jack
 " will be here tonight - wrote &c.&c. (but wasn't. Hamilton was going to "make a party") Dec. 9. Sat. Staid down and shopped tonight and ac- complished a lot. Saw Mary &c.&c. Had supper just before bedtime - after accounts. Dec. 10 Sun. Read old letters &c. this morning. Flossy Looney spent most of the afternoon here, and later I went over to Davis's. Only "Papa" and Chat were home and we had supper and a nice visit - about "You Never Can Tell" &c. Frank was there when I
