Apr. 12 Fri We are certainly having a horrid April as far as weather goes. Lunched with GCB. & Mother came down too, about some trimmings for her new silk waist. I went to Nan's and I had a nice brushing. J.W. got back this p.m. Awful sore throat tonight! Apr. 13. Sat. Very rocky today. Sore throat - headache - back ache - bad weather. Wouldn't have gone down only it was JWC's first day home & I worked very hard in consequence. He won't let Gilmore go away for 10 days! because he's a bank examiner on the 22nd!! G. is going from the 16th to the 20th however! Charlie

, our nice elevator boy, has gone too, because he couldn't stand McKibben & I don't blame him a bit. Cold rain this a.m. & p.m. Dry at night noon. Accounts &c at night. Apr. 14. Sun. Slept till about 9:30 this a.m. & feel much better in consequence - headache and sore throat gone. Mother went to church & Father & I & the cats staid home by the fire. Cold & dark out doors - Zenda still far from well - Zozie fine! Made some chocolate caramels this p.m. but they didn't seem very popular with rest of the family. Marguerite came over to borrow some books for her mother who is suffering from homesickness Apr. 15 Mon Stopped at the Erie thinking Edith A. wd be in on the early train - but she wasn't. Horrid day Tues. Apr. 16 Gilmore left for a "vacation" of 5 days! Busy of course
