10/9/06 Peter Pan.
Oct. 9. Tues. Rain again! Went to Sibleys met G.C.B. to lunch and saw Mr. & Mrs. Eckins (our Editorial Convention Ampersand friends) Lunched with Mr. Mason (the Post Ex- press dramatic Editor) & his wife. He was enthusiastic about "Peter Pan". Went to the station to meet Helen (& Christine
) this noon. Mother & I went tonight. Sat in the front row of the balcony (next Eleanor Lattimore & her father) & enjoyed it immensely. I was charmed - all through - Even the pirates & indians - (which I didn't like to "play" so well when I was young) Maude Adams was simply charming & Wendy a regular little Grizel. It reminded me of "Sentimental Tommy" parts Jim Arnold & his mother were there too. Oct. 10 Wed. Cold. Smith (Arthur K. our travelling man) came in & I had a long talk with him this morning - about business &c. At noon went to Nan Connelly's and had a shampoo. It rained, thundered, lightened and snowed while I was there!. Rained hard tonight. I worked till 6:10! Wrote to Gardenhire.
Oct. 11 Thurs. Everything laden with snow this morning & slush thick - horrid & cold. Busy all a.m. Smith here yet. At noon went in to McCurdy's, met Lura & bought a new brown winter coat. Lunched at Sibley's with G.C.B. & then shopped for Mother. Tonight went over to Meta's & had quite along
