July 1 Mon. Warm, clear morning. The Lake and clouds a picture. Came up to town with Mrs. Sperry. Home at noon and rode down with Herma and "Lyons". She has a beautiful ring - clustered diamonds - and is "very far gone". He seems a nice young fellow but immature. I think he has money. Found Mary at the Lake tonight. We all went down on the shore and watched "Captain" and Mame Dickens in bathing. Later we walked down with Mary to Charlotte. It was a lovely night. "Bob" and I came back on the car & the rest walked. Pearl Crawley was there and amusing. More sitting around the July 2 Tues. fire tonight - and more early rising this morning - but I sleep very well in the pink bed. Miss. H. came into my room about 3. Hadn't slept at all because of mosquitoes and everyone else (but me) complained of them. Mother came down with me tonight to supper. "Jacques" Spencer was there too. We had Frank Decker's company halfway up and Lew Jones the rest of the way. Frank
's little girl is just about a month
She died a week or so later.
older than Henry. She's been very ill & isn't well. Bobbie Jones and Marion
 are dears but Lew doesn't look well. We sat on the piazza awhile after supper & then went down on the beach (up a ways)
