breath of air. Felt better toward night & lay in the hammock out doors and read "Harpers". July 23, Mon. If it hadn't been Miss Flack's first day back (She thinks "Ojibway" is fine) and I hoped JWC's last day here, I wouldn't have gone down. As it was, he didn't go and I had an extra hard day and almost fainted away in the afternoon. I left everything any old way at 6:15(!) & went home & to bed early but didn't sleep much. Even had neuralgia again, among other things. July 24 Tues. Sick in bed all day. Expected to get better, but got worse toward night & Dr. Davis came & gave me pills & [illegible]
. Mother was a dear as always. Read to me some and I read to myself some - but not much. July 25 Wed. A lovely day (outside) as yesterday was also felt better this morning, but very weak - not so well in p.m. Sent for more medicine. Mary came to see me before supper and Lura afterward. It tried me a little but I enjoyed it. Slept better tonight. July 26 Thurs. Another gorgeous day - feeling better I am glad Claude & Char are having lovely weather at Schroon Lake these two weeks. Read some this a.m. On the couch all day. Miss Garfield came on the Empire. I got my clothes on before she came & was downstairs to supper. Chattie came over in the evening and brought me roses & mignonette & ferns from "The North".
