"Father & the Boys" 10/11 & 12/07
saw their lovely pictures and a good deal of their lovely house. I'm quite in love with Ned
and Bob
. It rained rather hard when I went in and poured when I went out. I walked down to Lura's & got soaked (as much as an umbrella would let me) Had a cozy supper and evening with Lura and Marie. Oct 8. Tues. Had a nice time today lunching with Bess, Mary D. and Edith at the Samovar (conservatory). Warm day. Oct. 10 Thurs. Had a long long talk with Lura about Frank Trapp and Mrs Penfield - and their (& Lura's) troubles. They are in a fix I'm afraid. Tonight Alice Colby & Kate Nagle came up and brought their Ojibway pictures and told me their experiences &c. &c. Oct. 11 Fri. Claude invited me to George Ade's first night of "Father & the Boys" - W.H. Crane plays "Father" and is fine. It was quite fine. I dressed up and we sat down in front and Frohman was there and a box full of N.Y. reporters and Ade made a speech and so did Crane - and Margaret Dale was captivating. &c. &c. Oct. 12 Sat. The real "Perfects" Day - but we didn't have a reunion - just ate -
