" in the evening &c much discouraged

at night. Monday. Still hot (has been since Thursday night) went to N.Y. with Miss Garfield on a trolly. Saw the immunity man, went thro' the safe deposit box and to the Jacob music box store. & back by trolly. Helped Mother in barn with innumerable boxes of stuff and at night read the history of Eugenia Lyman & Joseph Theel's romance in letters & telegrams - which we destroyed afterward.

Tuesday I guess it was Tuesday we did the Theel letters, for Monday Bertie
 came & had a long heart to heart talk with Mother upstairs - Tues. I went to Jamaica to

 too) Wednesday he came over. Also Ted
, in the afternoon selected Theological books &c. He is good looking. a spoiled young minister, I imagine. Mr. Starrett "of the Richmond Hill fire Dept"
