July 27 Fri. Another lovely morning. We had a nice drive at 10 o'clock. Mother & Miss G. on the back seat. I with the driver who turned out to be quite interesting a cowboy from the West. I lent him "The Virginian", as I'm anxious to know what a real cowboy thinks of it. His name is Wm R. Jordan - (Penn St.) We went to South Park & over thro' Mt. Hope & Castle Park to Highland, thro' Highland Ave. to East and around thro' the East side when a storm threatened, so we came back thro' Alexander and Clarissa St. bridge. They had a hard storm up Ironde quoit way, but only a few drops here. Went to the office this p.m. but didn't do much. Went to the train for Gertrude at 7:40. Had a little visit tonight. July 28 Sat. Warmer but not hot. Worked this a.m. but they were all good to me. Had a long visit with Caldwell, just back from California and whom I haven't seen since coming home from Europe with him or just after! He was very interesting and nice and looks much better. After lunch Miss G. left for Hamilton (not looking or feeling well at all.) I washed the dishes while Mother went to the train with her. Then, after 4,
