Also about the lovely presents Kath & Jo brought from abroad. Sept. 30 Sunday Busy day. Got a dinner by my lonelets. Chicken, potatoes, cauliflower, rice, &c. &c. (good, too) Later went up & saw dear little Henry - and Char. He was having his dinner, I brought Mother a lock of his hair. Saw a lot of pretty things, too. A cunning bonnett & veil in a bonnet box (from Mrs. Sibley) shoes &c. &c. Got supper later, fixed blue prints I had been making &c. &c. Mother kept quiet. Oct. 1 Monday Fine day. Got breakfast. Went to Mechanics to dinner with GCB, to the bank, Geo. Humphrey's &c. Mother went to see Henry & came down town, I met her & was rather startled. Mary & Nellie came over to- night. We talked Vacations and Babies! Oct 2. Tuesday Another fine day. I got breakfast. Mother got lunch - & an elaborate one. I found her used up tonight (of course) & was much worried. Did the dishes, saw the wash woman &c. &c. Oct. 3. Wed. She kept still better today & I got supper &c. Had lunch at Sibley's with GCB. Oct. 4. Thurs. Do. It poured this p.m. so I had to ride home (with & Kath Caring & Mr. McPherson)
