Mar. 2 Fri.
Went again to hear him tonight
(but not
Mother) sat next to Miss
Moran, who was most entertaining with her stories of
the "Brokaw" dinner at Great Neck. Her
sister Kitty
in Rome &c. &c.
The lecture was even better than the first. Afterward
"Rastus" Vogel & her sister captured me and I was taken
down, Capt. Simmons intro- duced & he was most
entertaining. Took me about and showed me everything even to his
uniforms & the "Mercedes" gun from
Manilla. Was late getting home and still later to
bed 'cause I took a hot bath.
Mar. 3. Sat.
It was raining this morning and simply
poured all day - till 5 p.m. when there was a
lovely rainbow - I worked tre- mendously hard,
Vanderbilt
left us. Was too used up to go to see
Willie Collier tonight. Wrote.
Mar. 4 Sun.
Felt pretty rocky today.
Headache for two days and eye-ache. Rode over to
Mary's this p.m. and staid a long time with her and
Nellie
visiting,
"Em" and her husband and fat baby (15 mos. old
tomorrow) came. Then Mary and I walked down to
Lura's & had supper with her
and "Marie" (Frank was out). Home
& to bed.
Mar. 5 - 6 Mon. & Tues.
Busy, headachey days - Would be sick abed if I had time. Char went to
Albany
Tues. to see Harry's
doctor. He went with her. She hasn't been well since her fall before
Christmas. Papa is reading
us "John Perceyfield" aloud.
