7/18/05 "Sans Gene"

were alone & Miss Cright Crichtonstrolled along (in a new white coat) and we both staid to supper and had a real jolly good time. Lura came later. Came home on "Diana" by moonlight. Kitty is going to the mountain with Chat. They want me to - wish I could. July 16. Sun. Warm, but a little breeze. Home 'most all day, loafing &c. Edith came over this p.m. but didn't stay, after supper I rode over to Lura's for a little exercise. Lovely moonlight night. July 17-19 Mon-Wed. Very hot days and very busy ones. Get down early mornings & stay rather late at night. Phillips is here (Mon, Tues.) Tuesday went with Laura to the theatre & really enjoyed it. Char & Claude were in Skaneatles over Sunday and Char is staying this week. Everyone used up with heat. July 20 Thurs. Cooler and a lovely day. Chattie D. and I went down to the Ontario to supper, walked around, had our weight & fortunes divulged and sat and watched the princess obey. Then went up to Mrs. Armstrong's cottage and sat on the Piazza with her and the dogs awhile it was very lovely tonight came home just after the fireworks began July 21. Fri. Still nice but I had a hard day and came home very tired and went to bed early. The other night I had the Steinhausens in and "Jack" Moore" and gave them a "concert" on "Stella" July 22 Sat. A lovely Saturday. Got home betimes, as J.W. started for Chicago this p.m.
