Very cold (-5 degree).
Sweeping day. So GCB
& I lunched
at Sibley's. Went to dressmakers.
Feb. 3. Sat.
Milder but blizzardy tonight.

raised my salary $100 a
year (from Jan 1st). Grace
Bingham
came at 5 and went home to supper with me and
then we went to the Lyceum & saw
Effie Shannon & Herbert Kelley in "The
Lighting Conductor". It was very good. Cold on the corner
waiting for a car but we got warmed up before bed & slept hardFeb. 4. Sun.
Rather late breakfast.
Grace helped me with the dishes
& then went over to the hospital. I read news- papers, wrote letters
&c.&c. Dark day.
Hamilton came over in the afternoon
and made quite a call. Told me about the hotel and his visit to
Detroit &c.&c.
Feb. 5. Mon.
Quite cold again. Busy
uneventful day. Reading & flinch in
evening &c.
Feb. 6. Tues.
Tues. noon Chattie lunched with me at Sibley's & we had a real nice time -
bought some valentines &c.
Ray Arnold telephoned that Matie
Hawley
was burned out in
Bloomsbury
Sunday. Hardly anything saved.

Cold. Very busy. Mary and Nellie
came up tonight and played
