Came home to
find poor dear Mother much worried I
over Zenda &c. We went over to
Baker's this evening & saw their new wall
paper, played
flinch & Mrs. Farnsworth
& her son (who did live up stairs) were there
for a little while - cold.
Apr. 17 Wed.
Had symptoms of
grip this p.m. Staid down to lunch (?) went over to
Dr. Grant's but he wasn't home.
Bad sore throat tonight & woke
Apr. 18 Thur.
up with left eye much
inflamed. Went to
Dr's. this p.m. He seemes very nice (my
first visit) Tonight bathed my eye & played solitaire
went to bed early - fearful sore throat in the night
Apr 19 Fri.
Went to the office (cold better)
but decided not to use my eye any more so didn't go in p.m. Lunched
with Father & Bess H.
at Sibley's - Walked up to Lillian's & met Hamilton & had a little visit. L. had taken the baby to have her picture
taken - it being Helen's birthday
&c. I went home. Mother's
sweep-lady hadn't come so I did the dining room and then we settled
down. Papa read aloud tonight - Bed early
Apr 20 Sat.
More sore throat &c. tonight
was a week this morning & staid in bed - Dearest Mother
waited on me and Zozo staid with me - The
Dr. came at noon
& changed my medicine & said my eye was better(!) this p.m. dear
little sick Zenda cuddled & purred but
she can't eat - a must pathetic little object - we are all just sick
about her. Got up about 6:30. Lura
