and had a long chat with Anna (and Barbara) mostly about Edith and Con - I think, they feel a little badly treated - she hasn't written to a soul but her mother and Con very little &. Also had a visit with Harriette
, who had a fall a while go and a sort of vertigo last Sunday night and is quite miserable. She's a dear tho' a little after ten Anna, Nan, Barbara and I drove to Saugerties and Nan went to the dentist and the rest of us to the dressmaker's and then the music - master's - and while Bab took her lesson (& her mother staid with her) I drove about with Burton. It was beautiful and wild and so nice to be out of doors. Before lunch I had a nice little visit with Cousin Carrie who told me more about Con and how awfully he had hurt H
's feelings about coming out there &c. Carrie's having trouble with one of the hereditary wens on her head which has ulcerated - Nan dresses it and Alice "jollies" her &c. It is quite a feature of each meal to fix the "trays" for the invalids. We spent more of the afternoon outdoors - on the piazza and strolling about - to the shanty &c.
